Rapid developments in electronics and extensive technology
to meet increasing safety and comfort requirements, as well as developments in
engine design, have resulted in a constant reduction in engine compartment
space. This space limitation means that modern air filter systems must be
adaptable to given criteria. MANN+HUMMEL continues to spearhead the development
of innovative air filters which fit the installation location exactly in form
and function. Air filters now exist in different shapes and sizes!
Where installation circumstances demand, alternative filter
shapes are available - for e.g. trapezium (pictured bottom) and oval-conical
(second picture) designs. An excellent e.g. for optimum use of installation
space is the MANN-FILTER air filters with stepped pleats (top picture). The
stepped-pleat arrangement increases the filter surface area considerably and
improves dirt holding capacity.
The air filter (third picture) with a hole for bracing a hood
and housing also demonstrates MANN+HUMMEL ingenious techniques. In this
instance, where two air filter elements are installed in the system, the fixing
mandrel for the cover hood goes through the element whilst optimum sealing is
maintained.
MANN-FILTER offers a wide range of products, with hundreds of
shapes and sizes, all manufactured to the same high quality.
